I have very thick hair so gels don't work. I had a 'go-to' clay before but while it held my hair in place, it was also very thick. I had to spend time making sure there were no clumps of it left in my hair after applying it. I got this 3 days ago and I'm impressed. It's strong but not heavy or sticky and I find it easy to wash out. I'll keep testing it over the next weeks and I'll order more if all good. Here's a tip my hairdresser gave me - always warm up your hair products before using. Do this by applying to your fingers on both hands and rubbing together until it becomeswarm. Even the best products won't work properly if they're cold. Cheers!!
Hey Ashraf! I'm delighted you love the Matte Mud as much as we do! I've got strong hair and it works great for me too. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything you need! Thanks, Gavin - VITAMAN
I really love this stuff! I was coming from American Crew Fiber, but wanted to try something with more natural ingredients since I sometimes will fall asleep before I can wash it out (which is bad bad bad). Emulsifying (rubbing between your hands before applying) is absolutely essential - don't put it in directly.
Color: Adobe color that turns white when you emulsify. Clear when you work it in.
Hold/feel: Light and breezy. I can run my fingers through it without getting stuck. Just enough to spike up the front and brush it over to one side. Holds through the day, though a good breeze will move it, but has a light tack so you can basically brush it back the way it was. Also feels like I'm not wearing hair product which is a plus.
TL;DR: It's on the pricier side but works well for a light hold that lasts and has ingredients that seem less harmful than others. If you're only using a dab or two each day to get your hair in order, it's totally worth the cost.
Does exactly what's promised and does it perfect. Love the smell!
Can’t fault it. Arrived quickly and works great. Love the idea of every ingredient being natural.
